The following article is an assignment that was completed for a second-year management course and later published in McGill’s Pre-Law Online Journal.
The article presents a critical and literary analysis of Operations Varsity Blues—a college admissions bribery scandal involving celebrities, coaches, and wealthy parents who paid large sums to fraudulently secure their children's admissions into prestigious universities. This paper challenged me to conduct extensive research on an ongoing event, identify relevant economic themes, and analyze the event from an economist’s perspective. As a 2019 high school graduate, I enjoyed researching an event that was relevant to myself.
